PayAnywhere – Accept Credit Cards With PayAnywhere’s Mobile Credit Card Reader
Reviewed by Sarah Hanlon
Whether you make crafts and gifts for a bit of extra spending cash or you run a business, you have to make sure you have a reliable way to process transactions.
Nowadays people prefer the safety and security of paying by credit or debit card, and sellers must be prepared to not miss a sale simply because they can’t accept payments by plastic.
PayAnywhere is one of the most well-known card swipe services available for iOS. Developed by North American Bancard, this handy (and free) credit card reader and app should be able to meet every seller’s needs.
Concept and Functionality:
When it comes to app itself, PayAnywhere is a serious selling tool. The app includes plenty of features to help sellers track and manage inventory and payments, and something I really like about the app is that it’s visually neat and organized.
Users won’t have to sift through navigation menus and archives in order to find what they’re looking for.
To make a sale, simply open the PayAnywhere app and tap the “Sell” button on the main screen. From here, you can choose whether to make an express sale or sell a custom item added to your inventory.
The express sale option is the fastest way to receive payment, and all you have to do is enter the price of the item that you’re selling, choose whether or not it’s taxable, optionally add details about the item, and manually enter the credit card number, use the card reader, or enter a cash amount.
One of the things I really like about PayAnywhere is that the app is very easy to navigate, meaning it shouldn’t take you longer than a minute to process a sale. This is good news for sellers who want to keep buyers happy by not holding them up and making them wait.
I can honestly say that most of this can be attributed to the app’s well-organized interface and layout.
PayAnywhere iPhone App
It’s not surprising that PayAnywhere is loaded with useful features for sellers. From automatically calculating sales tax based on GPS location to allowing sellers to send a customized electronic receipt to buyers, PayAnywhere really does have it all.
Besides accepting credit cards, PayAnywhere features very detailed inventory management and revenue tracking so you always know how your business is performing.
As with all mobile payment apps, PayAnywhere does include a few fees. There’s a flat rate charge of 2.69% per card swipe. According to the official PayAnywhere website, sellers will incur a fee of 3.49% plus an additional $0.19 if a transaction is manually keyed in.
The PayAnywhere app is free to download from the App Store and is universally compatible with iPhone and iPad. The credit card reader will be sent to you for free once you have an account set up, so there’s no initial investment.
Overall, if you’re in the market for a mobile credit card reader app and device, PayAnywhere is definitely worth taking a look at.
However, there are plenty to choose from, so make sure you do your research in order to find the credit card reader that’s right for you.
PayAnywhere requires iOS 7.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
