Most of you should be familiar with Remix OS by now, but here’s the rundown for those of you who don’t know what flavour of cake that is. Remix OS is a customized version of Android Lollipop built to look and function just like a normal desktop OS. It has a Windows-esque multitasking system, a neat and tidy design, supports keyboards and mice and is basically as close as you’re ever going to get to a business-like experience on Android.
The creators of Remix OS, Jide, recently had their first tablet, the Jide Remix Ultra Tablet, successfully backed on Kickstarter. It was received positively and had decent feedback, and was generally a pretty good product. Now Jide is back with their next product, the Jide Remix Mini.
The Remix Mini is by all purposes an Android top box, only running Remix OS. The device will come in two configurations, a 1GB RAM/8GB storage configuration and a 2GB RAM/16GB storage configuration, while the rest of the specifications have yet to be revealed. The Remix Mini’s Kickstarter campaign is set to begin in the middle of this month, and all tiers will receive the device with the lowest starting tier set to $20.
